NIDAS Survivors Forum
The NIDAS Survivors Forum is a supportive space created by and for survivors. It’s a place where your voice matters, your experiences are valued, and together we can help shape better support for others.
By joining the forum, you will:
- Share your experiences of the support you received and help influence how NIDAS services develop in the future
- Connect with other survivors in a safe, confidential and non‑judgemental space
-
Take part in open discussions about topics that matter to you, such as barriers to leaving an abusive relationship, the government’s Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) strategy, experiences with the police, experiences of support from other agencies, and any other relevant subjects
- Meet guest speakers from partner organisations and provide honest feedback about your experiences of their services
- Help guide future discussions by suggesting topics around domestic abuse that are often unheard
As a survivor, your voice is powerful. By sharing your experiences, you can help improve support for so many people across Norfolk who are seeking safety and a way forward.
The practical details
- Sessions will take place on the last Thursday of every month
- Meetings will initially be held online via Microsoft Teams (invitations will be sent out in advance)
- To attend, you must no longer be receiving support from NIDAS
- We hope to offer in‑person meetings in the future, which will be shaped and decided by forum members
