The purpose of the NIDAS Stalking and Harassment training is to raise awareness and develop understanding in relation to how stalking and harassment is used to perpetrate domestic abuse.
Learning Aims
- To understand the prevalence of stalking and harassment
- To be able to understand and recognise the behaviours that underpin stalking, harassment, and coercive control and the differences between them.
- To understand the legislation that covers these offences, including the DA Act 2021
- To understand the impact on victims
- To understand why stalking and harassment are so dangerous and the links to domestic homicides.
- To know how to respond, including risk assessing, safety planning, evidence gathering and legal protections that can be put in place to protect victims.
