The purpose of the NIDAS Domestic Abuse & Children Training is to provide an understanding and enhance awareness of the impact domestic abuse has on Children and the barriers they face when seeking support.
Learning Aims
- To understand the prevalence of children and young people experiencing domestic abuse
- To understand the impact of the Domestic Abuse Act 2021 and children
- To understand the impact of domestic abuse on children from pre-birth onwards and the connection with trauma
- To recognise the signs and symptoms of trauma in children and young people
- To understand how to respond to disclosures of domestic abuse
- To be aware of support services available
