Experiencing domestic abuse as a male: Sexual Abuse

By Published On: 05/11/2025Categories: Male Domestic Abuse

The Office of National Statistics estimates that over 700,000 males in the UK experienced domestic abuse in 2024.

This includes all forms of domestic abuse, such as coercive control, financial abuse, stalking and harassment, emotional and psychological abuse, physical abuse and sexual abuse.

Feedback from men in abusive relationships shows that they often don’t consider their experiences as abusive. This can be compounded by false beliefs, such as that men can’t experience sexual abuse within a relationship. This is not true: men can, and do, experience sexual abuse within relationships.

If you, or someone you know, is experiencing sexual abuse within a relationship, contact NIDAS today.
